About Myself

H ello, my name is Andy Bagley, and here is a little bit about myself:

People tell me that " You're ALL OVER the Internet!"

Well, in the 48 years that I’ve been in Dianetics and Scientology, I’ve been all over the North American continent and much of the rest of the globe, as well, I have been a Staff member since 1953 and, founded and helped to found Churches of Scientology from Seattle to New York City.

Prior to Dianetics I was a Merchant Seaman beginning in 1942, in the early part of World War II. I traveled extensively during those years with cargos for the war effort, where I learned what ’naked fear’ is, and was so frightened that my mouth dried out on my first trip. It only got worse, after that. I’ve been shot at and missed and shot at and hit. At war’s end, I was 19 years old and a 3 year veteran, having traveled over 240,000 miles in that period.

Happily, American ships come with extensive libraries, very goods ones, and I was fortunate enough to become friends with seamen that had lived very full lives indeed. I have sailed with ex-professors of philosophy, ex-mayors of cities, ex-attorneys, ex-medical doctors, ex-chiefs of police and an ex-judge of the Superior Court.

The common stereotypes of seaman, stone drunk and chasing some harlot, are about as real as Santa Claus. Seamen come from all walks of life and many are well educated and very thoughtful. They were kind enough to take me in hand, introduce me to philosophers, artists and writers that have shaped our civilization here on earth. In between assaults, attacks and the incredible amounts of waiting and sheer boredom, we would discuss Life, and the meaning of living and how to live in good conduct with the others of the world.

I think everyone reading this has likely pondered those same questions in the small hours of the night.

If you care to look, as I have, you’ll find answers in Scientology. I have...[End]
