When I was first introduced to L.Ron Hubbard, I knew nothing about him and I was in pretty bad shape and didn't know it.

      I was married to this wonderful lady who I'm still with after over 20 years and her name is Michele Ross. She was looking into Scientology and learning all about this amazing technology. I was the typical strung out hippie type (after 7 years in the navy during the Vietnam years), who didn't care about much except where the next party was going to be held and how I could get invited to it. My general attitude was much the same for everything in life. Fortunately, Michele saw something more than that in me.

      When Michele came to me and said that she had found something that might help me to kick this drug problem and that it was through the Church of Scientology, I became interested and agreed to go there to talk to them.

      I wanted to get a serious handle on how to get rid of the physical craving and mental desire for the addiction I had been experencing.

      After a while I came around to the realization that I wanted to do a Success Through Communication Course because at that time I believed that my communication was in need of repair (little did I know), so we signed up for that and while I was doing that with her I had win after win.

      I made a major decision that I wanted to look into this Scientology thing more and that there had to be more to this than what I'd heard of so far. Before this decision, I had a long talk with the person who deals with personal ethics and he was the one who helped me look at what I was doing to myself. It was a real kick in the pants and just the thing I needed to hear.

      I then went on to do the Purification Rundown and I knew that after going through 42 days of this program I had come out the other side squeeky clean, with no further physical craving for drugs, although I still had a mental desire. (This length of time changes with each person).

      This was done without the typical negative reinforcement that most drug rehab places use to get people off drugs. It was done naturally with no bad side effects.

      I went on to do other courses and I can say that each course I have done has helped me improve things in my life that were in definite need of improving. The personal counseling (called auditing) I received, known as The Scientology Drug Rundown, addressed the reasons why I took drugs in the first place and it handled this. It also helped me get rid of the mental craving and emotional addiction completely with a 100% end to it.!

      I was so happy about this and couldn't quite believe what had happened but I was very thrilled with the results.

     I went on to do other courses that addressed the recovery of my ability to communicate called the Key To Life and The Life Orientation Courses and these helped me to have the real keys to life!

      I am now eagerly looking foward to getting tremendous gains on completing the Student Hat course, as the real ability to study again is going to open up the world for me. The Public School system (of which I was a product) is in a sad state as you can see in the news articles across the nation as well as a rapidly falling literacy and competency rate amongst our young people. Throwing more money at an existing system that isn't working has produced worse, not better results over the years. The public school system is in need of major reform or total replacement that will turn the statistics and SAT scores around and produce highly competent young people who can contribute to themselves and society at a high level of ethical productivity. Having done the training and counseling I've done in Scientology, I can say for certain that there is a way to solve this problem.

      In conclusion, I can say that all my experiences in studying and receiving assistance in Scientology have brought me tremendous benefits in all aspects of my life. As a father, a husband, and at work - and much, much more. It has always exceeded my expectations many times over.
