ello, my name is Catherine W. Velge, and here is a little bit about myself:
Hi, my name is Catherine, I am a mother of two girls under 6 years old. I'm 37 but I don't feel as if I'm physically older than 25! My husband and I live in the countryside and love it.
Besides managing a household, which to some extent we all do, I compose songs on the piano, which are usually very melodic and in the rock/pop style.
I grew up in Belgium, but I'm American and my parents live in France. I play lots of tennis to keep fit and we go skiing once a year. I like gardening and antiques and generally keeping in touch with my friends.
My children have a busier social life than I do, so I have to manage that too.
I speak French, Italian, Dutch and a little bit of Spanish. I've traveled all over the world except South America and India.
I'm involved with a non-profit organization called Criminon as the Research In-Charge (which means I am In-Charge of collecting data). I think the prison system and the penal system have to go through a change if we wish to change the number of criminals going back to prison because they continually re-offend (80% of them serve a prison term but eventually go back very soon after being released).
I became a Scientologist because a colleague of mine in Belgium was training me and at the end of the day she said she was going to her local Church of Scientology. I said, "What?" and I haven't looked back since. It seemed that Scientology was the answer to the questions I had been asking myself and did not find the in psychology or any other self-disciplines (believe me I've looked at a lot of things and have read lots of inapplicable books).
I like Scientology because it is a positive, profoundly basic and workable subject which you can apply to your life in everything you do. I'm also a Catholic and Scientology has helped me understand what value religion has in our modern times.
