ello, my name is Chris Flamm, and here is a little bit about myself:
I am an artist. I am also the mother of two teenage children, a son and a daughter. Our entire family, my husband included, uses Scientology technology in our daily lives. Scientology has provided us with the tools necessary not only to to handle conflicts (which of course with two teenagers is bound to happen often), but also to resolve problems so that we are all happy with the solution. As a result, my kids like me, they like their dad, and we like them.
We have learned how to communicate with each other effectively, without making the other guy wrong. We have learned to respect each other, and each other's viewpoints. This is rare enough, I think, in society at large, but in a family? Come on. Most of my kid's friends envy the relationship that we have together. I have actually heard my seventeen year old son say to a friend, "Yeah that's my Mom, isn't she cool?"
I got into Scientology about 18 years ago. I had a degree in psychology and I had counseled others, but I didn't actually have a clue about why we make ourselves so miserable so much of the time. I read Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health, by L. Ron Hubbard, and WOW, it was like a light bulb turned on in my mind. Now I give seminars and workshops on Dianetics and Scientology and I DO understand why most of make ourselves so miserable so much of the time, and more importantly, how to handle problems so that a person can be happy and productive and reach their goals in life.
My kids are both Scientologists and are well liked by their peers. My 15 year old daugter has told me several times that friends ask her how she can stay so cheerful and upbeat. She tells them that she is a Scientologist.
I use Scientology technology as an artist, both to help me push through blocks and what could be unproductive times, and to help me get my designs successfully in to the market place.
My husband decided to go back to school in his mid forties and is now a law student. Because he uses Scientology study technology, he is able to understand and apply the things that he studies and as a result other students want to know his "trick". He recentley won honors for a project he completed. He was one of a handful out of a class of more than two hundred.
I can't imagine living my life without the tools of Scientology. It would be like trying to swim through a sea of thick mud, possible, but slow and tiring, and often not being able to see where one is going.
