ello, my name is Craig Hook, and here is a little bit about myself:

     Hello. I am a salesman, I have been married for 20 years and I have three wonderful children. As a family we like to travel. My wife and I have been to lots of countries around the world and love raveling very much. I have been in Scientology for almost 28 years, and I am “clear”, meaning one who no longer has his own reactive mind , which is the source of all irrationality, stress and anxieties. In 1969 and 1970 I experimented with drugs as did a lot of people my age. After about two years of daily drug and sometimes alcohol use I found myself without feeling or emotions - numb. I was twenty years of age but felt like I was 80.

     I had just about lost all of my memory. No sex drive. At the university I attended, I went to the head of the psychology dept. I asked the professor what I could do to reverse the effects of the drugs. He said there was nothing I could do to reverse the effects of the drugs. I could not believe I was 20 years old and my life was over. I consulted with my mom, who had been a surgical Nurse all her life . We went from one doctor to another. The doctors could find nothing wrong with me. I was ready to make my next doctor’s appointment and my mother said “no!” I asked “why not?” And she exclaimed “ if you keep asking you will wind up with an unnecessary Surgery!”

     I thought , well, you can fix a Washing machine if it’s broken, or a TV or car. My mind should be able to be fixed as well. I looked and looked, and looked some more. Then one day while on Christmas vacation in Beverly Hills, I saw a sign on sunset blvd.

     That read “ Dianetics and Scientology.” I said “ that’s the place!”. I went in and the counselor responded to my dilemma with “that’s what Dianetics handles”. He said that there were courses and auditing available that to handle my condition. I bought the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, by L. Ron Hubbard. I read it and immediately called to see how I could handle my problems if I said it was a wonderful adventure that is not enough. I was pretty messed up at the time. I thought if Dianetics could return me to close to normal by the time I was 88 years old, I would consider that a miracle. Well, it took a fraction of that time and the education about the mind and how it works helped me to help all the members of my family and many others. Today my life is very orderly. The things I want to happen, happen. The time when life was a problem is so ancient I would have to think real hard about it to recall what a problem really is.
