As a rock musician during the '70s, I was heavily “into“ alcohol and drugs; specifically marijuana, LSD and cocaine along with whatever form of alcohol was available. When I discovered Scientology, I was looking for a better answer to life's problems than substance abuse. I went through the Scientology purification rundown, a program designed to remove the physical effects and residues of drug abuse. On completion, I felt as though I had woken up to the world after being asleep for years. What a great feeling!

     After this program, I went through the Scientology Drug Rundown, a special counselling program that enabled me to understand the REAL reason I was drinking and taking drugs. After this program, I lost all desire and “need“ to either drink or take drugs. I am now mentally in a condition where I can take a drink or leave it and mostly I leave it. I may have a glass of wine with a fancy meal, or a cold beer on a hot day, but I usually would rather have a coke or a glass of water! It feels great!
