If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
This book really helped me with not being a door-mat, but being really ME. It is a good starting point, though there are some points in it that are not so easily understood as when it was first written in 1950. Luckily, there are a lot of footnotes, explaining words you might not understand otherwise.
