My first visit to a Scientology Organization was in 1961, under my own cloud of grief, depression and loss of confidence in overcoming my very difficult circumstances. (I can still recall the feeling with a chuckle!) I started a beginners course, and after a few evenings the grief really started to well up, Then a beautiful fairy godmother of an Auditor (she really seemed to me like that and indeed she was) gave me a Scientology auditing session (counseling). Just one session and that cloud of mental baggage simply blew away. Looking out the window the drab gray environment had become a fairyland, with ships in the harbor and the esplanade with its beautiful palms and shrubs all lit up.

      Except it wasn't a fairyland, it was a real practical restart. The very next day I applied for a job advertised in the "Situations. Vacant Men" column in a newspaper (then unacceptable for me to do) and with persistence, got it, with its attendant increase in my salary. Thus, also, bringing me and my small children from below subsistence level.

      That was just the start. Since then I have shed mounds of mental baggage. I haven't had my "mind set" changed, I just don't have one of those anymore. I operate with a flexible point of view according to circumstances as I see them now and with far greater perception.

      Scientology auditing and training have brought me joy, happiness and much greater understanding in and of life and other people. I know who and what I am. It has freed and enabled my to expand my ability, in practical skills and personal relationships. It has vastly improved my literacy (I thought I was literate before!); and much more.

      I am far from claiming perfection, but what a difference now from where I came and there is still more Scientology before me. Perhaps the possible gains by each individual are infinite and Scientology is still there!
