ello, my name is Helena Mispon, and here is a little bit about myself:
I help my husband, John, with our building business. We live in Knysna in the Southern Cape and moved here from Cape Town.
I used to be a school teacher, teaching English and Afrikaans- Grade 8-12, but now I am seeing to the administration and bookkeeping side of our business.
I have 2 sons, Francois (17) and Quinton (13). They are weekly boarders at York High School in George, both of them having done the "How to Study " course in Scientology and are doing well in school.
I got into Scientology through my mom. When I completed Matriculation in 1972, she suggested that I do a Scientology course to see if it could assist me in any way. Well it DID! I started off with the Hubbard Apprentice Scientologist course (all about improving one's communication skills). It helped me so much with my shyness that I continued on to my next course and I have not stopped since!
As I am Afrikaans speaking, it really took some perseverance to study Scientology at first, as all the courses are in English. But I learnt so much that was useful that I could not think of not continuing.
I love to read, going to the library or any bookstore and just to browse. I also enjoy music- Mozart, Bach, Schuman and on the other end of the spectrum- Beatles, Queen, Eric Clapton.
I was a volunteer with Education Alive in Cape Town, getting L. Ron Hubbard's study method introduced into the schools in Crossroads, Khayaletsha. I am also a member of CCHR and
ABLE.
