ello, my name is Ian Sugden, and here is a little bit about myself:
I am New Zealand born and made an appearance in September 1964 at Christchurch. I spent my childhood, and most of my teenage years in the city. Having an urge for more adventure and a desire to explore more of my country, I traveled and worked in various locations around NZ, eventually settling down and making Auckland my new home.
I held several different types of jobs; Sales Representative, Customer services, Orchard worker, Self employed window cleaner, and Supervisor for a cleaning company among others. They all served the purpose of supplying an income that gave me a suitable standard of living. Being in the city there was no shortage of products and services that are designed to make life more enjoyable or comfortable. Plenty of clubs and activities to engage in. Despite all this life was not fulfilling enough. I knew there must be more purpose to it all, there were too many mysteries to life and too much unnecessary suffering.
I began a quest to find some answers. Started reading some material on philosophy, the occult, new age practices and religion. I undertook some of these practices and did get a few of these questions answered, but there were still gaps, uncertainties, and confusions. In 1986 I read the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health written by the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. It revealed some amazing information about the mind and supplied the reasons for suffering in life. It answered some of my questions and done so with clarity. I had some Dianetics counseling and noticed a change within myself. Following this I became more involved with Scientology, read more books, did more counseling and took more courses. Many of my questions have now been answered so my life is not a blur like in the
past.
