ello, my name is Isabell Richer, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I am 42 years old and I have been in Scientology for 15 years. I was born in Montreal (Canada) but I now live in Florida with my husband. I speak French and English.

     Prior to becoming a Scientologist, I had a drug problem which I tried to solve but without success. One day I decided that it had to stop but that I needed help. A week or two later, one of my co-workers asked me if I would be interested in a course in communication. I thought, "Why not, communication is the basis of everything." This offer couldn't be more timely. Funny enough I did not think of my drug problem at that moment. I was looking at her proposition as an answer to a different situation. I had reached a point in my life where I was considering going back to the university to learn more. But learn what? I had accumulated 17 years of formal education and read many books on the subjects of self-help, emotions, mental health and mysticism. all gained were a useless BA, very little valuable knowledge, many headaches and lots of yawning. My professional goal had not been achieved, fundamental questions had not been answered and I had a general feeling that my life wasn't going anywhere. But I still ha a thirst for learning and I still had my ideals.

      Even though I had never heard anything about it, I followed my friend to the Church of Scientology. Just to see. After having done a couple of basic courses and read a few books, not only I knew I had found what I was looking for but I was also amazed at the scope of knowledge available on the vast subject of life. I remember thinking, "Wow! I can learn forever," but isn't it part of the living process?

      The drug problem was solved very rapidly and the thought of using drugs never entered my mind again. But what I considered of greater importance is that I have found the knowledge and tools to create the life I wanted and help others.

      I think of myself as a very lucky person to have found Scientology and for the direction my life has taken since, and I know this opportunity is there for anyone who wishes to seize it.
