I was raised going to Church every Sunday, a member of the United Church of Christ. From my studies here I learned a lot about what Jesus and God want for mankind and I observed how others of my faith went to Church on Sunday and then broke the ten commandments the rest of the week, figuring they'd just cleanse themselves by going to Church again next Sunday. And maybe make up for it with a bigger donation in the offering.

     I knew that I didn't have the tools to be the kind of person I knew I would need to be to really make the world a better place and do God's work. I certainly know that I wasn't living life in the best way I could and I was looking for answers.

     I took the course called “Success Through Communication” at the Church of Scientology about 26 years ago, when I was seventeen. It was given to me by a boyfriend for Valentines Day. On this course I gained real skills in communicating, learned a lot about myself, and found the training very valuable in life. My ability to communicate with others improved remarkably.

     I was just finishing High School and when I learned that Scientology offered a course called “The Student Hat” that teaches the techniques of how to study, I decided to take this course. I was amazed at how simply L. Ron Hubbard had described the barriers to study and what to do to avoid or handle these barriers so that I could learn anything on my own. I was amazed that I had gone through all those years of public education and only now had found out how to study. The real benefit was that I knew that I could learn anything on my own, with or without a teacher and with or without taking a class on it.

     Later on I went on to Junior College and took a full load of classes. For the first time in my life I got straight A's and made the Dean's List. The training in Scientology really paid off. My husband and I went into business when I was twenty and he was twenty-four. We had a baby boy, and we figured he doesn't need a lot now. So we started building musical instruments; my husband was following his life long dream. We started our business in a garage, and it rapidly grew to a full shop in an industrial area. We now have 20 employees and sell all over the world. Much of our success has come directly from Administrative technology written down by L. Ron Hubbard as he discovered how to run an organization well. Everything he learned he so generously took the time to write down so that others could benefit from his observations and discoveries. The great success and strength of our company has a foundation built on the truths that Ron wrote down in the Administrative Volumes.

     I have had many hours of Dianetic counseling (auditing) and I went Clear many years ago. I am happy and healthy and have raised two wonderful children who are out on their own, being successful in life. Many of the trials and tribulations of life hit me as they do everyone, and I have continued to get trained in Scientology as I have had available time to do so. It has amazed me how the more I continue to train in the technology of Scientology, how much it stabilizes me and helps me focus and deal with the stresses of life and find the right solutions to problems. I think clearer when I am studying at night several nights a week after work.

     I have gone from a pauper, having nothing when I married, to having a very successful business and having raised my family, Now my life is comfortable and successful and my marriage is better than ever. In fact, our marriage is fantastic! We have been through the good times and the bad times, but because we are both applying Scientology principles to make life better, we are able to deal with the bad times and make things go better. It's like having a ship's keel, the technology Ron gave us to improve conditions stabilizes us and allows our ship to stay righted in even the toughest seas.

     We don't worship Ron, but we know that he was a great man who worked very hard and invested a lot of his hard earned money into giving the technology of how to improve conditions to mankind so that we could bring about a better society, and each man can live a happy life.

     God made man in his own image. Scientology enables us to strip away the things that have stuck to us that we often term as "the devil" and leaves behind the true Spirit that is who we really are. Each of us has a unique nature without the criminal tendencies, and without warlike motivations. Scientology allows the able to prosper and honest beings to have rights - as stated in the Aims of Scientology.

     Scientology offers the tools to better yourself and to genuinely help others lead better lives. One can't truly improve themselves without also bettering and helping others around them. So it is a very humanitarian religion and philosophy.

     It's an adventure that I enjoy every day of my life.
