ello, my name is Jery Paden, and here is a little bit about myself:
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but being an investigator I really enjoy digging into the meat of a situation. My work requires being able to "look" at any situation, understand the issues involved with it and "think" with the data to hand to arrange my questioning and approach to the problem so that I am able to expose the real problem so as to arrive at an applicable solution.
To me that is what Scientology is all about and I find various interests in writing, music and social and governmental actions enhanced by the technology that I have learned. Life and living is never a "perfect situation", at least for very long. But with the information that Scientology offers for use in life you can learn what your actual abilities and potentials are. That applies to those who can do well already, and those that may need a bit of help where they are.
I first ran into Scientology when I was about twenty-one years old. I was worknig as a laborer pouring footings for porch decks from a two-wheel trailer I was hauling the concrete in. The weight of the concrete caused the rear axle of the truck to get stuck. The solution was to unhook the trailer to free the truck. As we lifted on cue, my hand somehow got stuck in the latch mechanism of the trailer, unbeknownst to my co-worker. Before I could free it the trailer hitch weight carried my hand down pinning it under the hitch on the ground. The pain was excruciating. My immediate reaction was to yank my hand out, which I did. My middle finger was already split in two and yanking it out tore most of the end off. I was in agony.
My friend immediately called for help on the radio. Unset and incoherant with pain, I wanted to get to the hospital but we couldn't as the truck was still stuck. This co-worker, who was a Scientologist, got me calmed down and quickly, just using communication. He took control of the situation so smoothly with such certainty that I found myself just following his direction. He had me lie under a nearby tree out of the sun and, using a bit of Scientology (something I found later was very simple to learn and use), he began to administer what is called an "assist". The result: within twenty minutes the bleeding had entirely stopped, the pain and throbbing had ceased and I could think clearly again. I did not even need or use the codeine prescription a doctor later insisted I take.
That was enough for me. I was interested and wanted to learn how to help others, too.
Since that time I have been able to help a lot of people with the same type of simple yet extremely powerful technology in life, including saving at least two people's lives. That was something! Aside from that, the "only" thing Scientology has done for me is increase my IQ and aptitude, increased by interest in others and being able too help them and show me I could make a difference not just for myself but people near and far. Not only that but in business and administration it has helped me run several businesses successfully.
