ello, my name is Joan Hoole, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I grew up on farms, first in the Karoo and later we moved to the coast. There were no suitable schools near us in the Karoo, so I was sent off to boarding school, which in those days, was a long way from home.

     After I left school I went to train as a nurse at a hospital nearby. While on leave during my training I met Des and we were married the next year. He worked for a Canning Company and was their Pineapple Field Officer, which post he held for 6 1/2 years, during which time I had two babies who kept me very busy. Then Des was asked to manage the Company's Pineapple Plantation, so we moved there and stayed for 6 years during which time we had two more babies.

     There I had a beautiful garden and did all the sewing and knitting for the family. With my nursing experience I looked after the health of the large farm staff.

     After a time Des' health began to suffer and we realized we should move on and set out to find a farm of our own. We found a beautiful place and moved in. It was also a pineapple farm and we added cattle and sheep.

     Soon after that we were introduced to Scientology and that was a fantastic turning point in our lives. With the data then available to us we realized the cause of Des' health problems which then improved enormously.

     On the farm I looked after the health of our staff and started a school for them. Our own children started going to school but had to go to boarding schools as we were too far away to do a daily run to school.

     I soon established a garden and later we planted a lot of Sterilizes which we used to send to markets in the big centers.

     Apart from the usual household jobs I enjoyed making clothes for myself and the two girls, and baking was a regular feature - four kids can eat a lot! I found time to do some reading.

     We lived there for thirty years till our younger son took over from us. We still have the house there, but spend most of our time at Kenton-On-Sea. Here we are building a flourishing multi-level Marketing Business. In due course it will enable us to go further in Scientology.

     In all, life has been good to us, especially since we were introduced to Scientology.
