Throughout my life, I've had periodic bouts of flu symptoms: runny nose, aching muscles and a sore throat. This would hit me several times a year and be something to suffer until it ran its course. I've tried various medicines but they only helped relieve the symptoms enough so I could get to sleep if I was lucky.
One time when the illness was in force, I talked with a fellow Scientologist, Amy, and realized that I had a choice about how to react to those symptoms. In the past I had always taken a resigned, wait-it-out attitude and tried to rest as much as I could, putting off doing things until I felt better.
I decided to change my pattern and, instead of procrastinating because I felt bad, I started to complete some of the tasks I had. With each completion, I felt a little better, until I was actually seeking out things to do just for the good feeling. The flu symptoms so rapidly disappeared I considered it amazing. I mean, I had had these symptoms all my life and they had NEVER just gone away that quickly.
So the next time I started to get the same symptoms, you should have seen me look around for tasks to do! I finished everything I had to do for that day, and then the next day, and when I was finally done I had finished everything for that week and the symptoms had totally gone away. I felt great!
If being stressed over incomplete projects is contributing to an illness or a depressed state of mind, then I can heartily recommend completing things instead of giving up. If it works for you as effectively as it has for me, you will certainly save a lot of money on medicine. Good health to you.
