ello, my name is Kurt R. Rath, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I was born in Long Island, New York, USA and grew up in State College, Pennsylvania. My Dad was a professor & my Mom a graphic artist. I went to art school at Carnegie-Mellon Universtiy and graduated in 1984 with a BFA in Painting & German Literature. I spent my junior year abroad studying in Salzburg, Austria, the birth place of Mozart. This had a big effect on me later.

     I bounced around between Pittsburgh, Los Angeles & New York before I moved back to Europe and got a painting studio in Vienna, Austria in the end of 1986. In the spring of 1987 I took the Trans-Siberian railway from Moscow to Beijing and then lived and traveled through China for over 4 months. I went to Tibet and then to Kathmandu, Nepal. Along the way I studied the Bible, Physics, Buddhism, Theosophy, Hinduism and other philosophies.

     In July 1987 I flew to Hong Kong and decided to live there for almost 2 years. In that time I worked in exporting and film. I traveled to 29 different countries and learned the basics of 8 other languages besides English & German. I was really looking for something but I didn’t know what!

     In December 1988 I came home to New York but quickly returned to Los Angeles in April 1989. At this point I was determined to discover the answers I was looking for. I decided to overturn every “rock” to see where the answers were. The very first place I walked into was the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International. When I read the Scientology definition of the Spiritual, it was the FIRST time someone else stated the very thing I knew I was searching for! What a relief! I had finally found the road to “Spiritual Freedom”, my life-long search. And as I discovered it is a road that anyone can walk...

     That was my QUEST. Maybe you can relate to it.

     I was a “Searcher,” I was a “Wanderer,” I didn’t have a “home” like others did. My search was my “companion” my “home”. when I would travel I would meet a lot folks like myself. Sometimes it was like bumping into “old friends”...."Hello there...say you seem awfully familiar...” In Scientology I finally found a bunch more of these types of people. There are the kind of people who when you say “I want to change the world”, they don’t look at you like you’re from another planet nor do they look at you with the glare of a seriously jaded eye. No, they say, “So do I !! What do you want to do and when do we start?!!”

     Since that April day I have been through so many changes I could not possibly relate them all on this site. But today I live in Clearwater, Florida USA. I do sales & graphics for a company that produces top quality health food products and I am actively working as an artist. I write, paint, act, perform & record. I have an incredible relationship of 6 years with a woman who is also an artist and a Scientology Counselor. I also work as a consultant helping businesses expand using L. Ron Hubbard’s management system.

     I have plans to create more as an artist. I am currently in the studio cutting a CD; I have a rep for my paintings and I also just finished my first novel and I am working on a 2nd as well as some screenplays.

     I hope this tells you a little bit about me.
