If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Evolution of a Science.
This book helped me learn about exactly how L.Ron Hubbard discovered the reactive mind* and exactly how insanity came about! Also it helped me understand what hypnotism is and how harmful it is. I also learned from this book that man's intentions ARE basically good!
*Reactive mind: that portion of a person’s mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis, which is not under his volitional control and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions. The reactive mind is where engrams are stored.
