I would personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, and purchase it with the accompanying video and cassette package. The package also includes a demonstration of the procedures described in the book. Then, I recommend that you follow up with the Hubbard Dianetics Auditor's Course at a center near you. It will give you quite an insight not only of yourself, but the workings of your fellow man.
