I was introduced to Scientology in 1970 by my father, a medical doctor, who had been in Scientology in London, England since the early 1950's. At the time I was at College, my studies were going very badly, and I had been fairly seriously ill necessitating several months off school. I knew I wanted to help people in my life, and my parents had expected me to also be a medical doctor like them, but I had no idea what I wanted to really do with my life. I started out doing a basic course in communication at the Organisation in London three evenings a week, whilst at the same time reading a very interesting book by L. Ron Hubbard entitled "Dianetics, the Evolution of a Science". For the first time I found I was learning something about the human mind, and how one could do something about it to improve one's happiness and success in life. I also learned how to succcessfully communicate with others, and this helped my tremendously. My next step was to do a course which actually taught me how to study, and I went on to learn how to successfully counsel others with Dianetics techniques. I was delighted to actually be able to help others in a lasting way through the counselling, and I too had counselling from other students so was able to experience the benefits first hand. Psychosomatic (coming from the mind) pains and ailments disappeared, and I found it so much easier to do things in my life, from doing my job, to driving a car - whatever, I could do it better as a result of my training in the counselling techniques, and from the personal benefits I had experienced from receiving the counselling. From 1973 to 1982 I became a staff member in the Scientology organisation based in East Grinstead, and I learnt a completely new management technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard which can be used to manage and expand any business activity. Since 1982 I have been the Chief Executive of a manufacturing company, which in 1982 was turning over about £60,000 per annum with only 3 full time staff, in 1997 it turned over nearly £4,000,000 and has almost 100 staff. This was achieved through the application of the administrative technology of L. Ron Hubbard.
