ello, my name is Martha Philippa Hughes, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I came across Scientology 17 years ago by the way of a friend. I was just 19 but had traumas with divorced parents, an alcoholic father and I had had my own broken romances which affected me deeply.

     My “nature” was such - very arrogant and selfish and easily made jealous that even at this early age I held little hope of ever achieving a successful relationship with someone of the opposite sex. And at that stage of my life it was quite heavy on my mind.

     My friend asked me if I was interested in doing some of what see called “auditing” where one gets to resolve upsets from their past. I was highly interested in this so went along - although instead I ended up doing a communications course, but I was very happy with the result as the course pointed out the component parts off communication and what really is needed in order to communicate well. It was all so simple and logical and when I applied these new skills it automatically made a big improvement in my life - but even more significantly - a big STABLE improvement. I began to communicate better and hence my relationships with people improved and hence I was happier.

     And that was my introduction to L. Ron Hubbard’s philosophy. Since then I’ve done numerous courses and received many hours of auditing.

     17 years later I have been stably married for 15 years with a 3 year old daughter and another child on the way.

     I mention my marriage because it is really the greatest success story and I truly believe I could not have achieved it without Scientology.
