ello, my name is Mary Ann Chait, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I studied and reached as best I could from the time I could read and speak. I was brought up with little religion in a "cultural Jewish" household which held some answers, but really gave little direction to my basic questions. Starting at the age of three, I went through he study of many religions and studied philosophy in college. I did find some answers and sense to my life but not enough to bring about piece of mind or enough understanding to really satisfy me.

     So, I decided that groups, formal religion, philosophy were basically not useful for me and that I would have to make it on my own understandings of what I could know and experience. Once this decision was made I felt very sad, but at least I had stability and could stop looking for what wasn't there.

     Then, in 1975, my boyfriend suggested that I become a Scientologist. I thought it was a joke because of my prior decision. My boyfriend, now my husband, really persisted. He was, and is, a religious Jew. His group was fairly sensible compared to other groups, so I decided that I would check it out.

     This is when I saw the communication drills that I mentioned in my successes.

     I was on the way to being a Scientologist. What really did it was the counseling. I did Life Repair counseling. In one of the sessions, I had what can only be described as a religious experience. I knew in that session that I was different than my body or mind. It was simplicity itself and so logical. That did it! I was a Scientologist forever. As such, everything in my life made more sense. I never really wanted a material existence as my main thrust, but that was about all that I could get prior to my knowledge about myself so my existence made so much more sense and me reasons for living increased exponentially.

     Scientology also provided the administrative and ethical tools to better the nature of my relationship with others. Raising children is very difficult in this time, and I could not do this without what I have learned in Scientology. I also know that I can get to where I want to be with the tools that I have learned. This makes me happy on a daily basis. My goals were, and are, to help my husband in his business, to raise my children correctly in a way in which they are happy and can contribute to society and to their own lives. I find that there is an art in the moment and that each moment can be utilized to create better situations with others and in production. If I want the gross income to go up, I figure out how to do it. If my son wants to release an album (he is a guitar player), I can help him do it.

     I have helped society better itself because of Scientology. If I walk out of my house and see people on drugs, illiterate or immoral, I am able to get to the source of the out points and can assist Scientology companies, such as Citizens Commission on Human Rights and Association for Better Living and Education to get my areas more livable. I have seen the world become a better place because of Scientology and enjoy helping. I am achieving spiritual freedom in a greater way than I ever dreamed of, even as a child. I am very hopeful for the future, as I would have probably been dead years ago if it weren't for Scientology.

     Today, I have three grown sons that I am very proud of. My husband and I have a business that is fun, expanding and lucrative. We are Asian Art dealers and auctioneers. I am redecorating my kitchen and my husband has resurrected his singing career. My certainty on who I am, where I am going and where I have been is great. I know how to help others, and I do so. I feel like a contributing member of mankind. Personally, I can make the moment more beautiful.
