ello, my name is Mike Roylance, and here is a little bit about myself:
The reason I walked into the Church of Scientology was because I had observed dramatic changes in a friend who had taken a basic Scientology course. I had to find out what was going on with her. I was a skeptical and suspicious person at the time and thought this was too good, there must be some trickery! I did the same course she had done, and finding nothing to complain about and, indeed, having improved my life greatly - for the first time I could see and confront other people comfortably - I did anther course and another. I consider myself to be aware and alert, but my skepticism and suspicious nature have evaporated over the years, making me a much more positive person than I was.
I work in construction doing home remodeling which brings me into contact with owners, realtors, designers and tradesmen. I've come to enjoy the relationships with these people and consider it as primary importance. I used to think the "work" was the importance and sometimes failed to discover what was really wanted.
I have been married for 14 years and have a 13 year old daughter. The practical truths of Scientology have been vital in our family as points of agreement, so that no matter what the difficulty, we always have common ground. I feel we've been lucky to have had Scientology while raising a child and I know she will be a happier, more productive adult.
One thing I'd like to say about Scientology is that it is very personal. Each person has his own different experience, makes his own choices, and changes or doesn't change his life accordingly to his own determinism. No one tells you what to do, or what is right or wrong. One does achieve wider understanding and non-survival things tend to fall away.
I feel like an explorer, and though I'm following an excellent map - the works of L. Ron Hubbard - life is very much an adventure.
