I began my involvement in Scientology at the age of 23 by enrolling in a communications course in Boston in 1977. Up until that day I had been the product of the hippie drug scene of the 60's and early 1970's. I was searching for some meaning in my life. I felt I had great potential and ability and yet had no direction. I felt alienated from the rest of the world and yet desired a better existence. I spent much of my time reading books on philosophy but found no answers.
I began the Communications Course with skepticism but also with a hope that maybe I would find some answers. In the 2 hours I spent that night listening to a taped lecture by L. Ron Hubbard, I felt I had gained more understanding into humankind than I had in all the previous books I had read. I knew this philosophy had useable knowledge one could apply to improve life. That night I never turned back. I stopped all drugs and put myself on a road that was truth. I have since never regretted yesterday but have causatively created my tomorrow!
