ello, my name is Rose Goss, and here is a little bit about myself:
Long ago my husband and I achieved the American dream: 2 kids, 2 cars, a dog, and a house with, a white picket fence. We met at The Church of Scientology in 1975 and we're still together. I credit the ethics and spiritual counseling technology of L. Ron Hubbard for the success of our marriage. We have 2 children both of whom are happy, healthy, drug-free adults. They grew up in an environment where they knew how to study thus had an advantage of knowing how to know. They were also taught the value of ethics and exchange. My son, Bryten Goss, is a professional painter who's "studio" is the world. He has been making his living as an artist since he was 16 years old and travels the world looking for new subjects and themes. Our daughter, Shalon Goss, 17, wants to be a filmmaker. She's working her way up in the film business from production assistant and she's taking classes at UCLA on directing. She wants to write and direct films that make people feel better, and I know she'll do it. We never let our children believe that they will be anything but successful. Our family is a family in the truest sense.
As a writer I am interested in almost everything around me. A writer must breathe! Therefore getting out into the world is an important basic of a writer's life. I love anything Irish. Being Irish, that's easy to understand. I love to travel and take photographs of the world around me. I love painting, dancing and the great outdoors. I'm an avid gardener and every spring I plant the best tomatoes in Glendale, California. But mostly I love helping people, and seeing them change or improve the conditions in their lives!
This is how I got into Scientology: I was traveling cross country in 1973. This was the post hippie era, and I was terribly confused as a person. I stopped over in Las Vegas, Nevada for the night. A man came up to me and asked me if I wanted to take a personality test. It sounded interesting, so I agreed. After I completed the test, another man graded it and gave me the answers. I burst into tears upon being told because I knew that everything he was telling me about myself (i.e., I was unhappy, etc.) war, the truth. I then listened to a lecture on a triangle called the ARC triangle (A = Affinity, R = Reality, C = Communication, put them together and they equal Understanding.) The idea was that if one corner of the triangle was lower, then the whole communication channel between you and another person would suffer. If they were all equally in balance, then a good communication channel was possible. This concept gave me a tool to better understand who I was and how I could lead a better life through better communication with my fellow beings. I discovered who I really was that day and I have never looked back.
