ello, my name is Sally Falkow, and here is a little bit about myself:

      I am a communication strategist. That means I help companies figure out how to best communicate with their target audiences – both inside the company and out.

      I was born and raised in South Africa – all those movies you see, like I dreamed of Africa, that's exactly how my childhood was. I was out and about on my bicycle in wild open spaces. I climbed hills and swam in rivers. One of my first jobs was in a game reserve and one night I came face to face with a black leopard!

      I always knew I wanted to write and soon after graduating from University I started work as a copywriter in an advertising agency. Later I went into PR and after some years of experience and more training, I moved into communication strategy. I worked in this field for over twenty years. One of the courses that really helped me to understand communication and make these career moves was the Professional Communication Course in Scientology.

      I also did the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course – a very comprehensive study of the mind – how it works and why we do the irrational things we do.

      Working as a communication strategist I use the principles of Affinity, Reality and Communication that I learnt in Scientology – it makes all the difference. The book the Science of Survival is a basic text PR and marketing professionals should have next to their bed and read every day. Since we deal with opinion, attitudes and changing the way people think as a major part of our work, knowing how the mind really works is a huge advantage.

      Understanding how people will react and what their emotional state is allows you to predict their behavior – an essential component of a successful marketing campaign.

      When we relocated to the USA in 1999, I started work at a dot com company. I learnt all about the Internet and how to do Marketing and PR on the Net. It's a new medium with all its own rules – yet many of the old rules apply too.

      For the past four years I have made a study of how to apply all this data to communicating on the Internet. My current interest is keeping statistics on a website and using this data to predict the visitors behavior. This way I get to use all the knowledge and experience I have gained over the last thirty years in business.

      On the personal side – I am 56 years old and I have been married for 32 years. People seem to think that is quite amazing! In 1986 we came very close to divorcing and some excellent marriage counseling at the Church of Scientology saved our marriage.

      We have four kids – my husband was married before and he had two children from his first marriage. We had two sons together. The kids are all grown and living happy and successful lives now. Only the youngest is here in LA with us and the others are all over the world. We do miss them!

      When I lived on the beach in South Africa I used to spend many hours in the warm water of the Indian Ocean surfing and snorkeling. I find snorkeling very relaxing as the under water world is beautiful and peaceful. Now that I live in Pasadena, I don't get many opportunities to indulge. I do miss living on the beach and I can't quite get used to the cold water! So having the opportunity to go to the Scientology ship, the Freewinds, in the Caribbean is absolute heaven for me. Apart from the great time I have at the conventions and the life changing data I learn on the courses there, I also get to dive Bonaire, which is one of the top three dive sites in the world.
