My Success in Scientology

My successes in Scientology are many. My first one was just finding a group who felt as I did—that I was master of my fate. That I could effect changes in my condition. And the way to start doing that is accept responsibility for my life. Not as blame, but as source and cause of my problems. Because, wouldn’t you know it, if YOU are the cause of a bad condition, YOU can also change it. But if the cause is outside of you—your mother, father, the school, the government, fate, etc. – you can’t do squat. Even it it’s a huge problem, if you look there is always some little area you can be responsible for and that gives you power over life – YOUR life. You can figure what to DO in that area to change it.

When I got into Scientology, I was 26, a college grad and I KNEW I had no control over my future, no hope of ever holding a job I really wanted, no idea of what came next. Except that I didn’t like it much. Things are very different today. I doubt there’s anything that I couldn’t do – If I wanted to. And I used Scientology to get there: nothing fancy or complicated: the ethics technology, the drills for communication, The Problems of Work book, and especially the idea that “Production is the basis of morale.” If you are feeling lousy, do something constructive – ANYTHING at all. Then rest and then so something else. It can be small. Always gets me out of any hole I get into. The simple stuff – I’m constantly amazed how powerful it is.
